COLD FEET

(illo: Mille standing in the mud with a hint of disgust as Pig merrily wallow)

But it didn’t help.

“I keep my feet warm by tucking them under my body,” Doris (duck) said.

(illo: Millie kneeling uncomfortably, trying to get her long legs under her)

But it didn’t help.

“When my paws are cold I go into the farmer’s house,” Digby (dog) said.

(illo: Millie enjoying a cup of warm hot chocolate in the kitchen as a surprised farmer enters)

But it didn’t work out.

“My feet are cold,” complained Millie
“Try grabbing on to a nice, warm rafter,” Boris (bat) said.

(illo: Millie awkwardly trying to hang upside down from a rafter)

But it didn’t help.

-----

“My feet are cold,” complained Millie
“Baaah,” said Shirley (sheep).

(illo: Millie stares at her fine, white wool.  Shirley stares back before saying…)

“What?”

(illo: Millie is awkwardly holding two long needles on either side of a tangle of yarn, reading a propped up copy of:
                    Practical Pigs Guide to Knitting.”

Shirley, shorn and shivering, is standing in front of Millie, who looks very comfortable in her new knitted slippers, mitten, scarf and hat)

“My everything is cold,” Shirley complained.
