THE ARGUMENT
Millie and Pig were having a conversation.
"I want to practice my handstands," Millie said. "Could you please hold my feet?"
"I need to plant these flowers. Could you please help me dig the holes?" Pig asked.
"But I want to practice my handstands," Millie said, "and I need you to hold my feet."
"But I need to plant these flowers and I need you to help me dig the holes," Pig said.
Millie and Pig were having a conversation that was turning into an argument.
(illo: page of escalating text.)

(illo: Millie and Pig stare at each other, silently.)
Millie really wanted what she wanted.
And Pig really wanted what he wanted.
So they did the only thing they could do together...
They compromised.
(illo: Pig holding Millie's feet, her horn poking perfect planting holes in the ground as she does handstands)
And it worked perfectly!
THE TIME MACHINE
Pig built a time machine and travelled back to the War of 1812
(illo: Pig on a battlefield, dressed like Napoleon.)
Millie entered the time machine and travelled even further back to ancient Egypt.
(illo: Millies dressed like Cleopatra)
Digby travelled far into the future as a space explorer.
(illo: Digby in space, surrounded by aliens.)
"I think we need to fix the time machine!" Millie shouted over the pyramids.
"Why?" Pig shouted back over the roar of the cannons. "It works perfectly!"
"What?" asked Digby from way out in space? "I can't hear you!"
"We can't play in the same place at the same time," Millie explained.
(illo: Pig, holding a marker, writes, "Today" on the time dial.)
"Now it works perfectly," Millie said.
(illo: everyone on the farm playing together, in their individual costumes and specific props.)
PETS
“Why does Digby go into the farmer’s house every night?” Millie asked.
“Because he’s a pet,” Boris said.
“What’s the difference between a pet and a farm animal?” Millie asked.
“Farmers love their pets and let them live with them and sleep in the same house with them and sometimes let them eat people food,” Francis explained. “Farm animals are just here to do all of the farm work.”
“Well then,” Millie said. “I think I want to be a pet, too.”
The next morning when the farmer came out of his house, Millie was waiting.
(illo: Millie hugging the farmer.)
“Why are you hugging me?” The farmer asked.
“Because I don’t want to work!” Millie said.
THE MAGICAL LAMP
One day Pig found a magical lamp.
(illo: A regular house lamp. On the shade is written the words, “Magical Lamp”.)
When he rubbed it, a magic genie appeared.
(illo: Millie dressed up in a robe like a genie.)
“I will grant you three wishes,” the Genie said.
“Wonderful,” said Pig. “For my first wish, I wish I had a unicorn horn just like my best friend, Millie.”
“I knew you’d choose that,” giggled the Genie. “Granted!”
(illo: Millie slips a looped string attached to a construction-paper horn over Pig’s head.)
“For my second wish, I wish that everyone had a unicorn horn just like my best friend Millie.”
“Um…” said the Genie. “I wasn’t expecting that. I don’t have any more horns.”
“In that case, for my third wish, I wish I could help make unicorn horns for all my friends.”
“Granted!” said the Genie, who brought over colored construction paper, markers, tape, and some string.
(illo: Everyone on the farm admiring each other’s new unicorn horns.)
