I am challenging myself to go back and "fill in" all of my stories with hastily sketched images that try and capture the scene that I have in my head for each character, setting or action.
So that I don't get crushed under the weight of imperfection, I am allowing myself an hour, at most, for each sketch.
This might seem like a ten-minute sketch at best, but it took the whole hour.
In the first few drafts something was off, until I realized that the two main characters, Tangaag and Emeq, should be holding hands. There was also an unfortunately-drawn polar bear that, ultimately, I decided to replace with a much easier-to-sketch penguin.
Why did I choose "Tangaag" and "Emeq" for their names, you ask? Well, in the Inuit language "Emeq" means "Ice" and I thought it was appropriate. Tangaag also means something but I can't remember what it was.
They are both characters from "Meanwhile... In La Crosse, Wisconsin" so expect some more (and hopefully better) pictures soon!
