- A normal baseball game turns into a galactic incident when a baseball accidentally hits an alien ship, who think they are under attack.
For his part, Timmy learns that flying an alien ship is more difficult than he had thought, and that trying to take over a planet can sometimes lead to disastrous results.
“Take me to your leader,” was all that was said.
But those five little words filled poor Timmy with dread.
How this whole thing had started he could not really say.
His morning began in the usual way.
He woke up around seven, then watched some TV.
But there were no cartoons on that he wanted to see.
So he put on some clothes and went outside to play.
Timmy figured, “Why not? It’s a beautiful day.”
He picked up his glove and he picked up his bat,
And went down to the field where his friend Chet was at.
A short while later Timmy’s other friends came,
And in no time at all they were having a game.
At the top of the third Timmy’s team was ahead.
And next up to bat was one Eric McNed.
“Here comes a home run!” Eric yelled out to Ted.
Ted was the pitcher who yelled back instead,
“Here comes a curveball so get ready, Ed!”
Ed was the catcher and he did what Ted said.
When Ted threw the pitch, Eric’s bat hit the ball,
Which went out past the field and right over the wall.
“That’s a pretty good hit,” Timmy said with a sigh,
As the ball kept on going way, way up in the sky.
“Even though the score now just wound up in a tie.”
The kids down below stood around looking wowed,
As the baseball kept going straight up into a cloud.
And they all thought it strange when just after a minute,
The cloud was still there and the baseball still in it.
The ball should have come out on the opposite side.
There’s no place in a cloud for a baseball to hide.
But that wasn’t what happened. For what they did not know,
Was that inside that cloud was a large UFO!
And the aliens inside, they just stood there and laughed,
As that one little ball hit their very large craft.
The alien Captain then spoke up in a roar,
“This attack on our ship, which was really quite poor,”
“Has made me quite mad. So we must get them back.
I’ll destroy the whole planet. It is time to attack!”
From out of the cloud came the large UFO,
Which flew straight toward the kids on the field down below.
The kids that were there had all started to run.
All of the kids that were there, save but one.
Timmy wanted to run but his feet wouldn’t leave,
Because what his eyes saw they just couldn’t believe.
The UFO landed right on top of home plate.
And all Timmy could do was just stand there and wait.
All the while wondering just what aliens ate.
As the door opened up on the alien ship,
Timmy could feel his poor heart do a flip.
The alien Captain then stuck out his head.
“Take me to your leader,” was all that he said.
Making Timmy then wish that he also had fled.
Timmy was frightened and scared and afraid.
But that did not alter the choice he then made.
He would not let these beings take over the Earth.
Well, at least not until he had found out its worth.
“I am its leader!” Timmy said in a shout.
“Now what in the world is this nonsense about?”
The alien Captain stepped off of his craft.
He pulled out his ray-gun, then pointed, then laughed.
“You must be insane. You’re not right in the head.
You are bluffing,” The alien Captain then said.
“It’s the truth,” Timmy said. “And I’ll prove it to you.
I will show you that what I have said is all true.”
Timmy emptied his pockets and searched really hard.
Then he reached out to show them his library card.
“This card that I hold says that I am the king.
I run the whole planet. I own everything.”
“I am in charge, so I’m sure you’ll agree.
If you want anything then you must talk to me.”
It was lucky for Timmy his foes could not read.
They all looked at the card, then at Tim, then agreed.
“This card indeed proves it!” the Captain yelled out.
“This boy is in charge. And of that there’s no doubt.”
“That’s right,” Timmy said. “And I’ll prove it again.
First I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse, then,
I’ll turn over the planet to you and your men.”
“Tell me,” he was asked. “Of this offer you’ve got.
And I’ll tell you if I will then take it or not.”
“I offer a trade," Timmy said to the crew.
“You give me your ship and the Earth goes to you!”
“Just think of it, won’t you? No fighting. No war.
There’s no mess to clean up, which is quite a big chore.”
“The planet is yours. It’s as simple as that.”
Timmy said as he picked up his glove and his bat.
“But you must decide now. I do not have all day.
I’m a real busy king. So what do you say?”
“Agreed,” was the word that the Captain then spoke.
Timmy couldn’t believe that they fell for his joke.
“Agreed," was the next word that Timmy then said.
So he gave them his card and then onward he fled.
He walked straight towards the ship and he climbed up inside.
He sat down in the chair and some buttons he tried.
The buttons did nothing, but he noticed, right there,
A big metal lever attached to his chair.
Timmy pulled on the lever and up the ship went!
As it crashed through a tree leaving quite a big dent.
He then stepped on a pedal and off the ship flew.
While way down on the ground stood the alien crew.
They looked at each other, then looked up at the sky,
And they realized that Timmy had told them a lie.
“What do we do now?” One lone crew member asked.
As all of them watched as their UFO passed.
“The answer is obviously, perfectly clear.”
The alien Captain then said with a sneer.
“Just like before you will do what I say.
And I say it is time that we make the Earth pay!”
“We do not need our ship. We can win on our own.
But we must do it now while the Earthlings are prone.
And if you don’t help me I’ll do it alone.”
But then right at that moment they all heard a strange tone.
A policeman drove up, parking right on the mound
And told all of the aliens to get on the ground.
But the aliens didn’t. They put up a fight.
They pulled out their ray guns and stood at full height.
“We will not be defeated,” the leader then spoke
As he pointed his ray gun… but found it was broke.
“My ray-gun is useless! Why doesn’t it work?”
“Because,” the policeman then said with a smirk.
“The reason is simple. My name is not Ray.
It’s officer Tommy O’Reilly O’Day.”
“And the badge that I wear that is pinned on my chest,
Means that all of you creatures are under arrest.”
He handcuffed them all as he read them their rights.
Then he turned on the sirens as well as the lights.
He drove them downtown. Then he locked them away.
They would not be attacking the planet today.
Somewhere just south of the Sea of Japan,
Timmy had worked up a heck of a plan.
He thought it all through as he flew through the sky.
Then he figured he might as well give it a try.
Timmy thought to himself, “My new plan is stupendous.
Though the ramifications will be quite horrendous.”
“But that doesn’t matter. Not one bit in the least.
So what if some people may think I’m a beast.”
“It’s for their own good. Everything will be fine.
When I’ve conquered the planet and made it all mine!”
It was more than a plan. It was sort of a quest.
And of all his ideas this was surely the best.
He was ready to put his spaceship to the test.
So he pulled on the lever and headed due west.
In no time at all he was over his town.
He pushed on a lever and sent the ship down.
Off to the side, just a bit out of reach,
Timmy saw a small button marked, “Invasion Speech.”
He reached out and pressed it and then through the air,
A very loud voice yelled out, “Earthlings beware!”
“We have come from a planet ten light years away,
And the reason that we have arrived here today.”
“Is to conquer the Earth. We are making it ours.
So you all must leave now. We will give you three hours.”
“And if you are not gone when three hours are through,
You will not want to see what we’ll then have to do.”
The crowd that had gathered right near the town square,
All looked up at the UFO floating in air.
They did not look too frightened. No trace of a scare.
They all simply stood there and started to stare.
Timmy started to get up from out of his chair,
When one of the people below said, “Unfair.”
We will never surrender the planet to you.
This planet is ours so here’s what we will do.”
“We will give you three seconds to get out of town.
And if you do not then we will shoot you down.”
“Hmmm,” Timmy thought. “I should do as they say.”
So he opened a window and yelled out, “Okay!”
“I was only just kidding. I was just having fun.”
To which the whole crowd down below yelled out, “ONE!”
Timmy pulled on the lever and soon, into view,
Was the crowd down below as they all yelled out, “TWO!”
Timmy stepped on the pedal and started to flee.
And as he flew off he could just barely see,
All the people below as they all yelled out, “THREE!”
And that was when Timmy then saw something quite weird.
From the ground down below three large missiles appeared!
They were aimed at his ship. They were shooting him down!
So he pushed on the lever and headed for town.
In no time at all he was over his street.
So he flew to his house and got out of his seat.
He flew over the pond that was in his back yard.
Then he reached for the lever and pushed really hard.
And as the ship went down Timmy jumped out the door.
And he watched as the ship sank down to the pond floor.
Timmy felt sort of bad as he sat on his lawn.
He could not rule the world if his ship was all gone.
Timmy then saw the three giant missiles fly by.
They went over his house and off into the sky.
A few minutes later they all ran out of fuel.
And those missiles fell down right on top of his school!
The building exploded all over the place.
As a very large grin crept across Timmy’s face.
“Oh well.” Timmy thought. “Maybe things aren’t so bleak.”
“It looks like I won’t go to school all next week.”
And so then Timmy got up from where he fell down.
He brushed himself off and he headed for town.
He started to walk, then he jogged, then he ran.
He would go to the field where the whole thing began.
He would go there and wait until his other friends came
And there they would stay ‘til they finished their game.
